20th Century Exploration
This section covers the twentieth century and the important
astronomical events and people from it. The people section covers the three most-prominent
figures: Edwin Hubble, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking. Earth & Moon
Missions and Satellites discusses the programs that have studied the Earth and
Moon by actually sending either a vehicle there or by sending people. It also
talks about one of the most important satellites: the Hubble Space Telescope.
Missions to Other Planets covers important probes, such as Pioneer 10 and 11,
Voyager 1 and 2, and the Mars Global Surveyor, that have visited other planets
or objects in the solar system. Soviet Craft talks about the various Soviet missions
between roughly 1957-1988.
